คณะกรรมการมาตรฐานการอุดมศึกษา
พระราชบัญญัติระเบียบบริหารราชการกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม พ.ศ. 2562 มาตรา 25 กำหนดให้มีคณะกรรมการมาตรฐานการอุดมศึกษา เรียกโดยย่อว่า “กมอ.” มีองค์ประกอบซึ่งได้รับการแต่งตั้งจากกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม จำนวน ไม่เกิน 9 คน ประกอบด้วย ประธานกรรมการมาตรฐานการอุดมศึกษา กรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ และกรรมการและเลขานุการ (รองปลัด อว.) มีวาระการดำรงตำแหน่งคราวละ 4 ปี แต่ไม่เกินสองวาระติดต่อกัน โดยมีหน้าที่และอำนาจที่สำคัญที่กำหนดไว้ในพระราชบัญญัติระเบียบบริหารราชการกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม พ.ศ. 2562 มาตรา 26 และพระราชบัญญัติการอุดมศึกษา พ.ศ. 2562
